(JM011-17-513) EARLY REBATED FRAME 1881 MARLIN IN 45 GOVERNMENT
If you want one of the earliest 1881's ever made, this would be it: #43. I'm certain that very few lower numbers are in existence. This gun has a plum brown appearance on the bbl, mag tube and frame; action is nice. Wood has seen a little modification on the comb, fairly good fitting-a little shy on the upper tang, forearm has had a crack and is missing a sliver of wood. The wood has been freshened up sometime in it's lifetime, bore is fair and has some roughness. Would be hard to find an earlier 1881 Marlin. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(JM1090-16-415) VERY RARE BALLARD MODEL 1-3/4 FAR WEST HUNTERS RIFLE IN CALIBER 40-65
Very rare gun which was only made for approximately a year and a half in 1880. Orig 30" full round bbl, VG+ shootable bore that would probably clean to better. Orig sights include typical Marlin Buckhorn rear and blade front. Overall metal is a plum brownish patina coloration with sharp corners, good markings, no pits. Wood has an old age crack in the wrist but is solid, numerous dings and mars from hunting use and a sliver missing along the front forearm on the top edge; rifle style butt, loop lever and double set triggers. Decent little gun, all orig and virtually impossible to find. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(JM1070-15-340) MARLIN 1895 NICKEL PLATED CARBINE IN 38-56
Some of the nickel is in relatively good shape, some is flaking and some is gone. Receiver retains nickel in protected areas otherwise it has pretty much flaked off and it appears there has been a little bit of cleaning on one side. This gun has got some very pretty wood; it has been restocked and looks good. Bore is fair to good with some roughness, action is very nice. Here's your chance to get an 1895 and have some fun for not a lot of money. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

Orig 30" full oct bbl measuring over an inch across the flats. Orig wood retains most the orig varnish; rifle style buttplate and cracks coming back from the upper tang but is sound and solid. Marlin Firearms
(JM1061-16-141) 1888 MARLIN ROUND BBL, FULL MAG RIFLE; IN CALIBER 32
Has a bright bore with good riflings, bbl and mag tube are a gray patina, metal is relatively smooth with a few pin prick pittings here and there, nice bbl markings. This gun is in the 26,XXX serial range. Also equipped with a nice old Lyman tang sight. Wood is in good overall cond but there is a chip missing in the upper corner right hand side. This gun evidently had sling swivels at one time and there's a very neatly patched plug on both the buttplate and forearm that apparently covers up where the slings swivels were. Good solid gun, nice antique. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

3 digit serial number: 166. This rifle is mostly a gray brown patina with dings and scratches both on the metal and the wood, nice readable bbl address and caliber markings. Wood apparently has had a coat of finish put on it many years ago; is slightly undersized at the upper and lower tang. There's a crack in the forearm but wood is solid. This gun surprisingly has a VG bore. Hard to find these early 1881's; good collector piece. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e
