(9401-17-312) WINCHESTER MODEL 95 RIFLE

Cal 405 with an extremely rare stainless steel bbl. This is only the second 95 I have seen in 405 with a stainless steel bbl. This gun has a flat top sporting rear sight, Marbles front sight. It was originally tapped for a Lyman side mount receiver sight which has been removed. Excellent bore. Has eyes for a Winchester sling. Overall wood is in Excellent cond with shotgun style buttplate and what appears to be a little varnish having been added to the wood. Overall metal appears to have been cleaned and is a light greyish coloration with sharp markings. Traces of blue in the protected areas on the receiver. Bbl has no finish remaining. A nice, clean, original little gun except where noted. Very scarce stainless steel on a 405. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

Has a professionally installed Springfield 1903 military bbl, chambered 30-06 with RA, Flaming bomb, and date 4-42 markings still visable. Front sight on the bbl is a ramp style with post Lyman. No provisions on bbl. for a rear sight. This gun appears that it might have had a Lyman #21 which is now gone. Receiver left hand side has quite a bit of original blue. Worn on the receiver bridge at the carry point. The right hand side of receiver has ample blue with more wear shown. Pretty much brown on the lever and mag. Buttstock fits quite well but has a deteriorating white line recoil pad. Forearm also has been altered. Near excellent bore. A good, fairly priced shooter. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

(8786-17-322) WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 TAKE DOWN DELUXE ENGRAVED SPORTING RIFLE

This gun is in the 73,XXX serial number range. If you consult R.L. Wilson's Winchester Firearm Engraving book, you'll see several different Model 95's in the 73,74,75 thousand serial number range that were made for the Fancy Finished Arms catalog of 1917 that never materialized. This is one of the new patterns, no doubt and done by Stokes-very typical of his engraving with very delicate scrolls and shell motifs. Caliber 30-06 with a VG+ bore, orig sights include correct Lyman side mount 21 series receiver sight and the engraving is done in such a way that it does not impede on the sight. Orig 3X checkered straight stock deluxe burl wood shows some usage but no splits or cracks; light wear to the checkering; complete with orig Silvers pad. Generally VG+ cond throughout; guaranteed all orig. Engraved Model 95 Winchesters are very hard to find. ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e

Caliber 32-40. Very elaborately done gun featuring the engraving pattern #5 which is the scarcest of all the engraving patterns usually, it would have a buck on one side and a pair of caribou in a panel on the other side. The Factory Letter calls it Pattern 14 Dollars but it's the Factory engraved Pattern #5. 28" rapid taper full round bbl, orig sights include side mount Lyman 21 series receiver, flip up rear and blade front, mint bore, gold bbl band. Stocks in exc+ cond retaining nearly all the high gloss lacquer finish with 'E' style carving and engraved rifle buttplate. Overall gun suberb with 97-98% orig bright glossy blue remaining with just some high point wear and very few light hunting mars and dings. All orig and complete with Factory Letter. This gun has just recently been put on the market; it came from a family of developers who had it for approximately the last hundred years. This is the first time it has been offered for public sale. The 14 Dollar engraving is a very elaborate pattern for a gun that was made in approx 1902. Beautiful! ~~> VIEW PHOTO <~~ e
